Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is the fourth part of the very popular horror game. In this part, you will see a new story related to the previous games of the series. This game is more impressive than the other ones. The main character is a child who was left home alone. This boy has to survive 5 nights in an atmosphere of total fear. His task is to avoid animatronics and stay alive. Monitor what's happening in his room. Keep an eye on two doors, a wardrobe and a bed. You have a flashlight that scares the enemy and you can close the door. But as soon as the animatronic comes up close the game Five Nights at Freddy's 4 is over.

How to play Five Nights at Freddy's 4

What could be better than having fun at the famous Freddy Fazbear's Pizza - that's what many people think. But at the birthday party, which the child celebrated in the cafe, he gets a terrible bite, after which he becomes the target of the animatronics.

In this chapter the action takes place not in the office of the security guard, but in the house of a little boy. Here there is no monitor and no cameras, and the main tool in the fight for life is a flashlight. Actual locations:

  • corridor to the right and left of the room door;
  • the closet with clothes;
  • the child's bed.
In this version, the most important thing is the sound - you should listen to the footsteps and the breathing. If you hear breathing, hold the door shut and do not use the torch. If you hear nothing, shine the light down the hall. Then listen again.

One character you cannot ignore is the plush bear sitting on the bed. Despite its size, it hides more than it looks like it should, and the bed needs checking every time you come back from a door.

Patience and attentiveness are the main allies of the player. It is with their help that you can survive the nightmarish nights.

Who is at each place

  • Nightmare Bonnie - left door, listen before you light it
  • Nightmare Chica - right door, same rule, plus the kitchen sound
  • Nightmare Foxy - the closet, and shining a light on him at the wrong stage makes it worse
  • Nightmare Freddy - the Freddles that gather on the bed while you are away
  • Nightmare Fredbear - night 5, and he uses every position at once
  • Plushtrap - the between-night minigame, and beating him cuts an hour off the next night
The torch is the trap of this game: it saves you from one animatronic and kills you with another. If you want the version where you can actually see what is coming, the doors and cameras of FNAF 1 are the opposite approach, and FNAF 3 can be downloaded if you want one offline.

How to beat every night in FNAF 4

Night 1

Gentle, and worth using properly, because the loop you learn here is the whole game.

  • Go to a door, hold it, and listen before doing anything else
  • Breathing means hold the door shut and keep the torch off
  • Silence means shine the light down the hall
  • Check the bed every time you come back from a door

Night 2

Nightmare Foxy starts using the closet, which adds a fourth place to check.

  • The closet needs the torch, not the ear - flash it and watch what the plush does
  • If Foxy has already become a full animatronic in there, hold the closet door shut
  • The bed is still your responsibility; nothing else covers it

Night 3

The Freddles gather on the bed and Nightmare Freddy becomes real. Rotation now has to be tight.

  • Torch the bed on every pass - each flash removes one Freddle
  • Let three build up and Freddy arrives, and there is no door for that
  • Doors, closet, bed, repeat. No improvising

Night 4

The night people search for. Everything moves faster, and the game starts punishing the habit that kept you alive so far: reaching for the torch at a door.

  • At a door, the torch is a death sentence if there is breathing. Sound decides, never light
  • If you hear nothing at all, that is the moment to flash - not before
  • Foxy is at his most aggressive; the closet needs checking twice as often as it feels like it should
  • Beat Plushtrap in the between-night minigame - landing him on the X cuts an hour off this night, and that hour is the difference

Night 5

Nightmare Fredbear replaces the whole cast and uses every position himself - both doors, the closet and the bed.

  • One threat, four places, and no time to double-check any of them
  • His audio cues are quieter than the others - turn the volume up rather than guessing
  • Speed matters more than accuracy here; a fast wrong choice beats a slow right one

Night 6 and beyond

Night 6 brings Nightmare, and after that the 20/20/20/20 challenge.

  • Nightmare behaves like Fredbear but faster and quieter still
  • The minigames between nights carry the actual story - the bite, the brother, the plush

FNAF 4 - quick answers

Why is there no camera in FNAF 4?

The game is built around sound instead. You walk to a door and listen, and the torch is only for confirming.

When should I not use the flashlight?

At the doors, if you hear breathing - light means an instant loss there. Use it only on silence.

What is Plushtrap for?

The minigame between nights. Stopping him on the X shortens the next night by one hour.
