How Special Delivery works

Idea: you subscribe to a delivery service, and it delivers animatronics

Augmented reality technology came to the horror game Five Nights at Freddy's. The player gets to feel all the fear this version carries. The gameplay is standard, slightly adapted for phones and for the new technology.

The main character will meet all the classic monsters: Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie the Rabbit, Chica the Chicken. The defence against them is still the same flashlight, which has a limited supply of energy.

How to play FNAF AR: Special Delivery

In this game the player confronts the monsters in the real world. There is no familiar office here, and the robots attack in the hero's own house. The plot begins with the player signing up for Fazbear Funtime Service - a special delivery. Various animatronics start arriving at the door. But they are not here to entertain the player, they are here to attack.

Cancelling the service is not easy - the mailbox fills up with letters, and not all of them are intended for the player.

For example:

messages from Luis, who is trying to reach Ness;
letters containing information about the employees who designed the robots.

What the point of that correspondence is, and who the emails are actually for, is worth working out. If at first glance it makes no sense, reading further shows that everything in the game connects.

The encounter loop

Something arrives, and you only hear it before you see it
Track the footsteps, then face the right way before the flash
Shock it when it appears, or take the jumpscare
Salvaged parts feed back into the animatronics you can send out yourself

The whole idea is a reversal of the first game - instead of you sitting still while they move, they move and you have nowhere to sit. The original version of that setup is FNAF 1.
